Academic titleTransport and Logistics Management, MA/PGDip
Course descriptionEmergence and expansion of local and regional trade agreements, free labour flow, and rapid growth of globalisation in general, have necessitated reliable, sustainable transportation and logistics systems. Moreover, remarkable increase in visits to and from the UK during the last ten years, growing UK trade (EU and international), and special events such as the Olympics in 2012, hosted in London, all demand well-established transport systems and logistics planning and management expertise.
The MA Transport and Logistics Management is designed to meet the needs of graduates, who have not previously specialised in logistics and transport, or those who are interested in expanding their knowledge and practical capabilities in transport and logistics areas. The programme is also an appropriate choice for international prospective students who wish to study the subject in a world class university.
The main objective of the programme is to outline the key elements of transport and logistics management and planning. In view of that, this programme tries to explore the key notions of transport and logistics, and discusses new approaches to transport and logistics systems design and analysis.
In addition to the basic concepts of passenger and freight transport, and local and global logistics, the programme focuses on contemporary issues such as e-business, transport systems modelling, and environmental issues in transport and logistics ensuring its modernity.
