Course descriptionCoaching examines the scientific foundation of sports performance, giving you the opportunity to explore a range of performance-related subjects. At Kingston University we believe that theoretical knowledge should be underpinned by a strong practical component and therefore students are encouraged to gain experience in the laboratory and the field in both structured and independent sessions.
This is complemented with a knowledge of management studies, covering the fundamentals of management theory.
What will you study?
This course adopts a multidisciplinary approach to the field of sports coaching. You will have the opportunity to explore the physiological, practical and psychological principles of coaching at all levels of performance.
You will examine theories and practice of effective coaching, and have the opportunity to develop your own coaching and leadership skills. You will gain a good understanding of injury assessment and rehabilitation. The management studies modules give you an insight into how the business world operates and will introduce you to marketing concepts and people management skills.
