Content details
You need an interest in finding out more about care of children, parenting and play. This course, with three units all assessed by coursework, is a basic introduction to childcare at Entry Level. It is combined with Literacy at Entry 3, both to help with your current course and to improve your skills with a view to progression to the next level. You will not be working with children as part of this course. In order to obtain employment in a childcare setting you need to move up to a Level 2 childcare course.
How is the course taught
You will have a mixture of discussions, practical tasks and group work, in either small or large groups.
Assessment
There are nine short tasks, three for each Unit.
Course leads to
You could decide to apply for a Childcare course or Health and Social Care course at Level 1.
