    You will study three year-long modules: Managing People in Organisations, Managing Marketing, and Managing Operations and Finance.

    Professional accreditation
    The programme is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) and is, therefore, a valuable qualification for human resource professionals and those intending to join the MA Human Resource Management. If you complete the programme successfully, you will be eligible for licentiate membership of the CIPD.

    Upon successful completion of this programme, graduates will be guaranteed the offer of Associate Member (ACMI) status or, with three years’ managerial experience, full Member (MCMI) status from the Chartered Management Institute.

    Careers
    The Certificate provides an entrance route to the study of management at postgraduate level, offering participants the flexibility of either progression to master's programmes or graduation at Certificate level.

    Managing People in Organisations
    Organisations recognise that, if they are going to be successful, they need to tap into the skills and knowledge of their employees. How are they going to do this? This question that has been at the centre of management thought over the course of the last century. Human Resource Management (HRM), as an academic discipline and a professional practice explores the various dimensions of this question. In this module you will consider, evaluate, analyse and apply a set of principles, values and approaches to leading and managing people. You will look at how people can maximise their added-value to their own development and to corporate goals.

    Managing Operations and Finance
    This module examines the principles and practice of managing finances and operations within organisations. You will look at how to manage resources efficiently and effectively within a dynamic environment using operational and financial information. You will also examine the pressures and impact this has on organisational control.

    Managing Marketing
    This module is a foundation if you are studying marketing later, and an end point if you are doing a non-marketing programme. It assumes no previous marketing knowledge. It examines marketing from a customer-focused perspective, describing the relevance and applying this perspective for organisations and across functions.
