Improving Library Practice
This course is designed for library staff in the public and private sectors, in education including schools, colleges or universities and in specialist libraries or information units.
It builds on the success of the Post Graduate Certificate in School Library Management, which received the Seal of Recognition from the Chartered Institute for Library and Information Professionals (CILIP). Discussions are taking place with CILIP for the new course to receive accreditation.
Successful completion of the course is an end in itself but also provides access to a Post Graduate Diploma and a Masters qualification.
Duration and Mode of Attendance
This part-time course starts in January 2008 and takes 12 months; it is delivered face-to-face, by video-conferencing and partly online at one or more of the University of Ulster campuses, in Jordanstown, Magee and Coleraine. All students are expected to have daily access to a computer and be familiar with word-processing, the Internet and be users of email
