Political Theory (MSc Econ)

  • Objectives To offer knowledge and expertise in approaches to political theory and conceptual issues, as well as allied generic skills.
  • Entry requirements Entry Requirements:

    A minimum 2:1 degree classification or equivalent qualification. Suitable for graduates in Politics, Philosophy, History and allied disciplines that include a significant element of theory (e.g. English in which Critical Studies figured prominently).

  • Course description Course Description:

    This programme introduces students to the development of political theory as a discipline and to the different approaches that have arisen in analysing issues such as multiculturalism, human rights and distributive justice.

    Assessment is by seminar presentations, book reviews, assessed essays and a dissertation of not more than 20,000 words.
