  • Objectives Embracing the latest principles and practices, this course focuses on the essential skills of the HR professional including managing people and activities and learning and development The first stage includes modules from the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) Leadership and Management and People Management and Development fields, and the second stage from the specialist Personnel and Development field of study Close professional links with organisations from the public, private and not-for-profit sectors ensure our programmes deliver the knowledge and skills demanded by the UK’s leading employers The course features a distinctive international residential – a feature that has been commended by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) as an example of good practice Our devolved status from the CIPD allows us to internally assess all our professional HR programmes - you can study for a professional qualification that leads to membership of the CIPD without having to sit the Institute’s national exams. The School also offers a fast-track membership upgrade scheme allowing you to bypass the Graduate stage of CIPD membership to a Chartered member
  • Entry requirements You should normally have at least one of the following: -A degree or equivalent -NVQ Level Four or SVQ Level Four in a related subject plus two years relevant organisational experience -CIPD Certificate in Personnel Practice or Training Practice or Recruitment and Selection plus two years relevant experience -Mature students without formal qualifications, but with significant management/HR experience are welcome to apply

    Become a professional trainer, developer, or HR specialist, as well as gaining direct CIPD membership

    Completion of any one CIPD field of study gives you Licentiate membership

    Graduate membership is achieved by completing the Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resource Development and the CIPD Fourth Field: The Thinking Performer

    Completion of the programme gives you direct entry to the School's MSc Human Resource Development and Organisational Change or MA Human Resource Management

    Successful completion of the Diploma would give you the ability to claim some exemptions from our Master of Business Administration (MBA)
