Course description
There are fewer core modules than on the more specialised pathways so you can choose more optional modules from our extensive list, including modules taken from the specialised pathways. The core modules concentrate on research methods and the production of your major project, which is dissertation-based.
What will you study?
You can choose from a large choice of modules, which include those based in performance; composing; music education; popular music; and music technology. You will also undertake a dissertation-based project, which can be chosen from a wide range of possible topics relating to our lecturers’ research interests.
In addition you can join any of the wide variety of University ensembles or form your own ensemble – ensemble activity is credited towards the assessment of the Ensemble Performance module.
