Multi-Agency Working PgCert-PgDip-MA

  • Objectives Schools are increasingly being seen as centres for community activity and, as such, more demands are being made on those practitioners who support the young. This course has been designed to provide the enhanced knowledge necessary to meet these demands, and addresses the need for joined-up thinking in relation to the strategies emerging for the support of young people; eg Sure Start, Children’s Fund, Connexions and the Learning and Skills Council agenda.
  • Academic title Multi-Agency Working PgCert/PgDip/MA
  • Course description What will you study?
You will study the notion of the ‘extended school’ and look at the role of practitioners providing support within it. You will also explore how the community capacity of schools is developed and learn about the different agencies involved, such as social care and health services, the Youth Offender Service and child and adolescent mental health services, looking at how these agencies work together effectively with schools.
