    Clinical placements
Clinical placements provide the opportunity for you to apply theory to practice in a supervised practical setting. Clinical placements could be in the University's sports injury rehabilitation centre, offsite with sports clubs and teams or within a health and fitness setting.

You will participate in clinical placements and sport first aid training. Timing and structure of these placements within the programme is dependant on the sporting team chosen (ie winter or summer sports). You may attend a block placement, full-time or part-time placements, attending clinics, practice sessions and/or weekend sporting fixtures.

    Course structure
Core modules include Assessment and Rehabilitation of Athletes, Peripheral and Vertebral Soft Tissue and Mobilisation Techniques, and Clinical Electrotherapy. Practical experience is an essential element of the programme and this may be gained on placements in public or private settings or in sports therapy support projects connected with the University's sports injury rehabilitation centre.

    Careers
Typically graduates are employed as sports therapists. However, you'll also be well prepared for employment in related areas including the health and fitness industry, sport development, research and sport science support.
