  • Course description
    The MSc Security, Leadership and Society is offered over one year for full-time study and over two years for part-time study. The programme looks at the mutually reinforcing links between Security, Leadership and Society, especially within the developing nations at various strata: national, regional and continental. The programme is conceived against the background of the immense significance of leadership processes and outcomes in security and development efforts in the developing world. The MSc in Security, Leadership and Society brings together the various thematic strands that examine the nature of societal leadership and its impact on security within and across developing countries and regions. The programme is envisaged for students who have deep interest in understanding how societal and leadership peculiarities can influence the nature of security. 

    The programme explores several thematic issues including: the complexity of leadership; conflict, human security and societal space in leadership; leadership in socio-economic transitions historically and in recent times; and the impact of global leadership on security and development in developing societies.
