MSc-PGDip in Applied Psychology Supervision and Consultation

  • Objectives The programme is aimed at those applied psychologists in regular pre-qualification supervision of applied psychologists in training, and post-qualification supervision/consultation practice for qualified applied psychologists. Students on the programme will come to the University campus for theory teaching and group work, and we will visit them in their workplace to supervise their live supervision practice. Supervision and consultation have become very important for the following reasons: to support the expansion and training of newly applied psychologists; the requirement of the British Psychological Society regarding chartering and continuing professional development; new models of care and practice in the NHS, education, health and forensic fields requiring supervision and consultation from applied psychologists. These initiatives are underpinned by pedagogy and some empirical research.
  • Entry requirements This new Masters/Diploma is open to all clinical, educational, forensic, health, counselling and psychotherapeutic and occupational psychologists. Modules 1-6 can also be purchased separately for continuing professional development (CPD) requirements.
