  • Course description The programme consists of the following modules:

    -Environmental Management
    -Risk
    -Research Methods
    -Air Pollution Control
    -Water Resource Management
    -Waste Management
    -Environmental Field Studies

    The MSc course is completed by a dissertation. In the case of part-time students, the dissertation is usually based in the workplace, whereas for full-time students it may involve a placement with a public, private or voluntary sector organisation. Students not wishing to continue onto the dissertation project can be awarded the Postgraduate Diploma in Environmental Protection if leaving the programme at this stage.

    Teaching is by lectures, some delivered by visiting practitioners, fieldwork; site visits, seminars and tutorials.

    Assessment
    Assessment is solely through coursework consisting of both individual and group assignments.

    Career progression
    Graduates from the programme are employed as environmental regulators, advisors or managers in the public, private and voluntary sectors, both in the UK and overseas
