ObjectivesThe MSc Biomedical Science should enhance the career opportunities - in terms of flexibility and progression within the profession - of individuals currently in full time employment and who have taken the course part time. The acquisition of the MSc by full time route students will also increase their flexibility, enabling them to apply for positions in a range of Biomedical Science/Life Science careers in both the public (eg in NHS laboratories) and private (eg drug firms) sectors as well as research positions. The course has recently been re-accredited by the Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS).
Entry requirementsThe MSc is aimed at biomedical and life science graduates, and is designed to extend and integrate the student's knowledge base and reinforce and develop an informed and critical comprehension of topical aspects of biomedical science. The course allows the opportunity to study in specialist disciplines within the field of Biomedical Science including Microbiology, Haematology, Transfusion Science, Cytology/Histology and Clinical Chemistry.
