  • Objectives This Masters degree will meet the requirements of Allied Health professionals (AHP’s) qualifying at degree level who are seeking a specialist qualification in Palliative Care

    'Agenda for Change' and the 'Knowledge and Skills Framework' (2004) are likely to encourage senior staff to pursue studies at Level 4 and this programme will provide practitioners with the requirements of the framework in tandem with a postgraduate degree

    In view of the developments within the speciality, healthcare professionals are required to work collaboratively across boundaries utilising advanced knowledge and skills for the benefit of all individuals with a life limiting illness

    Future prospects

    Depending on your professional status career pathways can be quite varied. This course is aimed at Health and Social Care professionals with a particular interest in palliative care, as well as Case managers and Heart, Lung and Renal Nurses. Following completion of this course, professionals can go on to become - for example - Advanced Nurse Practitioners or Nurse Consultants.
