    This programme is designed to give graduates an opportunity to specialise in any combination of a wide range of areas in marine technology. It operates within the Engineering & Physical Science Research Council-supported postgraduate training programme of Strathclyde University's Engineering Faculty and allows you to come into contact with students in other engineering programmes and thus develop multidisciplinary interests and skills. There are a limited number of studentships for home students.

    Content

    The programme consists of three elements: lecture courses, a group project and an individual project.

    Instructional courses include generic subjects such as:

        * Design management
        * Ecological and environmental impact
        * Project management and financial engineering
          and specialist subjects such as:
        * Shipbuilding technology
        * Marine structures
        * Offshore engineering
        * Design optimisation
        * Waterborne transportation systems
        * Safety management
        * CFD and high speed craft.

    You are required to take three generic courses and four specialist courses.
