    Course structure
    Modules cover all aspects of management expertise, including human resource management, accounting, strategy and organisational behaviour. A dissertation at the end of the course allows you to explore a management subject of your choice.

    Professional accreditation
    Upon successful completion of the programme, graduates will be guaranteed the offer of Associate Member (ACMI) status or, with three years’ managerial experience, full Member (MCMI) status from the Chartered Management Institute.

    Managing Operations and Finance
    This module examines the principles and practice of managing finances and operations within organisations. You will look at how to manage resources efficiently and effectively within a dynamic environment using operational and financial information. You will also examine the pressures and impact this has on organisational control.

    Managing People in Organisations
    Organisations recognise that, if they are going to be successful, they need to tap into the skills and knowledge of their employees. How are they going to do this? This question that has been at the centre of management thought over the course of the last century. Human Resource Management (HRM), as an academic discipline and a professional practice, explores the various dimensions of this question. In this module you will consider, evaluate, analyse and apply a set of principles, values and approaches to leading and managing people. You will look at how people can maximise their added-value to their own development and to corporate goals.

    Managing Marketing
    This module is a foundation if you are studying marketing later, and an end point if you are doing a non-marketing programme. It assumes no previous marketing knowledge. It examines marketing from a customer-focused perspective, describing the relevance and applying this perspective for organisations and across functions.

    Strategic Analysis
    This module looks at the techniques for strategically analysing an organisation. By studying this module, you will be able to demonstrate a comprehensive and critical understanding of a wide range of analysis techniques for evaluating strategy content, process and context.

    Management Theory and Practice
    This module explore management theory and practice. You will critically examine a range of approaches to studying management and managing, including the findings from some of those studies. You will evaluate various approaches to the history of management thought, compare the main theoretical approaches/frameworks and critically evaluate their contribution to management practice.

    Business Ethics
    Business operates in a marketplace where increasingly ethics and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) are seen as essential consideration. Companies of all sizes increasingly recognise the significance of being switched on to business ethics and CSR.

    By focusing on the theory and practice of entrepreneurship, this module enables you to understand entrepreneurship in society, organisations and your own life. It provides a strong theoretical foundation and conceptual frameworks to underpin real-world studies, cases and personal experience.

    Management Research
    This module aims to provide you with knowledge of research strategies and is designed to help you understand the processes involved in conducting effective research. You will see the significance of theoretical principles in the research process And understand how important it is to present clear and credible arguments and evidence to support research design and findings.

    Dissertation
    This module integrates your learning and development as you apply your knowledge and understanding to organisational issues. You will do a major project related to a business issue of significance within an organisation, leading to a written report.
