MSc Leadership & Development

  • Course description The MSc Leadership and Development is offered over one year for full-time study and over two years for part-time study. The MSc in Leadership and Development focuses on the issues that engage leadership as a central factor in the dynamics of development. The programme is conceived against the background of the increasing interconnectedness of leadership to the developmental challenges that confront developing societies.
    It engages various manifestations of leadership such as that of key individuals; and that of institutions such as the state and key international development organizations and networks. The programme undertakes a detailed study of the various developmental paradigms using the lens of leadership within its key constituency of developing societies with some references to emerging economies and the developed world. In addition to the thematic focus on development and leadership, the programme engages area studies as it cross-references various developing regions including Africa, Asia and Latin America.
