MSc Intelligent Systems

  • Objectives There are wide applications of CI, from household appliances and medical services to robotics and data mining. As a result, a range of career options are opened up by this MSc programme, for example: -Robotics programming -Games engineering -Control systems -Mobile communications -Software engineering -Research There is evidence to suggest that many employers prefer CI graduates even for non-CI focused jobs because the nature of the subject means that such graduates are able to select from a wider set of approaches to problem solving as well as being able to program computers and communicate effectively. IBM, HP, Microsoft, Bell Labs and Xerox are all examples of companies that have their own CI research labs, indicating that this subject is currently very important and that graduates of degrees in this area are very employable.
  • Entry requirements Applicants must hold a second class (2:2) honours degree in Computer Science or related scientific/engineering discipline such as Physics, Engineering, Mathematics, Cognitive Science, or Psychology, either from a British university or a recognized equivalent. Additionally, all applicants must have basic mathematics ability and computer programming skills.
  • Academic title MSc Intelligent Systems
  • Course description Programme
