Course descriptionThis course has been designed to meet the needs of practitioners in the post-16 sector of education, private training, community, voluntary, health and social services sectors who recognise the opportunities that the internet offers to their activities and wish to develop new knowledge and skills in this area.
The course will enable applicants to:
· Develop strategies to enhance the learning experiences of remote/virtual learners, using appropriate motivational and interactive techniques;
· Enhance practitioner-authoring skills through interactive and collaborative explorations of teaching technologies and associated design tools;
· Critically examine the learning processes of students and evolving frameworks and structures for e-Learning;
· Appraise the current needs, cultures and trends in corporate and academic online education;
· Design and appraise modern online applications requiring dynamic interfaces to facilitate and enhance learning;
· Design, negotiate and manage systems of instruction that accommodate a diversity of learning styles
· Critically evaluate the e-Learning industry and the demands of online education.
The course offers fully online training and support through a wide range of learning situations including virtual seminar rooms, discussion and chat rooms. Participative approaches are central to the course in terms of integrating the understanding and experience of the students into the teaching process
