Objectives
Explore and apply your entrepreneurial creativity on the flagship programme of the School's University of Nottingham Institute for Enterprise and Innovation (UNIEI). UNIEI is one of thirteen UK Government Science Enterprise Centres. Entrepreneurial qualities have never been more important or more in demand from existing companies employing graduates and by those wishing to start a new business themselves. Are your entrepreneurial skills sufficiently well developed to meet the needs of dynamic employers , or to approach setting up a new venture? This course will help you develop these skills. The exciting features of this course include Creative Problem Solving, Entrepreneurship and Starting a Business, innovation and technology transfer, marketing, finance, risk assessment, and contingency planning. In addition, you will benefit from close links with industry, ‘live’ cases, and experienced entrepreneurs. This course will encourage you to generate your own business plan / dissertation application and - if you want to - do it for real.

Course Content
You will study the following core modules (worth 80 credits) in order to develop your knowledge and skills relating to Entrepreneurship:

-(MSc) Finance and Accounting
-(MSc) Innovation and Technology Transfer
-(MSc) Innovation Management
-(MSc) Marketing
-(MSc) Social Entrepreneurship
-Entrepreneurial Management

You will also be required to complete a 60-credit dissertation or business plan undertaken over the summer.
The supervised dissertation allows you to develop your own independent research using concepts and techniques from the theoretical and methodological modules.
Course Structure
The MSc in Entrepreneurship is taught on a full-time basis over one year.
During this time, you must accumulate 180 credits to qualify for the award of MSc.
80 credits come from modules taught and examined during two 15-week semesters.
Each taught module typically consists of ten three-hour sessions. Assessment is a combination of individual essay or group project and written examination.
You will also undertake a 40-credit group project.
The remaining 60 credits of this course are allocated to an independent dissertation, which is completed over the summer period for submission in September.
