Course descriptionEcotourism focuses on harmonising the needs of the environment and people within the area to be visited. It is one of the fastest growing sectors of the tourism industry and it raises vital questions. What can be classed as ecotourism? What characteristics should it embrace? How can it be developed as a potential economic force?
The programme is designed to be relevant and flexible. You can opt for one module to be a work placement. We also encourage you to engage with the tourism industry for your project work.

Teaching and Assessment
We use lectures, seminars, tutorials and workshops to help you learn. We monitor your progress through essays, examinations, projects, student-led seminars and dissertations.
Work Experience
You will gain real-world experience through residential field visits. In the past these have included Paris, Barcelona, Prague and Dublin. You'll also benefit from the sharing of experiences by guest speakers from the tourism industry.
