Objectives
The MSc in Digital Media is a unique programme of study that addresses the growing need for professionals able to design novel solutions using digital technologies. The programme would address the needs of practitioners, managers, decision makers and educators who wish to be informed about the technical possibilities of digital media with an awareness of social, cultural and business contexts. The degree programme consists of six taught modules and a substantial personal project researching a digital media related area. The taught programme is delivered over two semesters, providing intermediate qualifications - postgraduate certificate (60 credits) and postgraduate diploma (120 credits). The third semester (during the summer) is dedicated to project development.

Course content
The programme of study is organised under the following three study themes, namely:
-Internet Technologies
-Internet Applications Development
-Digital Media Design
Each of the themes is aligned to a different knowledge and understanding objective of the programme. Structuring the MSc around these themes provides students with a wide variety of perspectives on Digital Media as a subject, and a core understanding and knowledge of three important areas.

Students may choose to attend one 20-credit module from another MSc Programme, but this doesn't count towards the award of the MSc
Further module information
The dissertation projects often include research into novel interface paradigms, mixed media presentation and web application development. In addition to the practical work you will also write a substantial dissertation. Students often select projects in areas related to their future employment goals.

-There are some modules with only coursework bases assessment
-There are modules with both coursework and examination assessment components

Graduates from this MSc programme will normally find employment as web designers/developers, web content management, graphic design, creative industries practitioners and project managers.
