MSc Crisis, Disaster Management and Cyber Security

  • Course description Disaster Management is an inter disciplinary subject that draws upon a wide range of disciplines from ‘hard’ to ‘soft’ sciences. It is focused around complex political, social and economic activity and reflects the very heart of governance in a country. Organisations of all sizes are required to assess ‘risk’ in both the physical (real world) and virtual (cyberspace) and to examine how socio-technical systems are made vulnerable by human factors interfacing with technology. This qualification is designed to be delivered to an organisation's requirements. Dates, times and a venue can be mutually agreed. Participants have the option to take each unit as a separate CPD course and can choose whether to be assessed to accumulate academic credits leading to the award of Master of Science (MSc). Please contact the course administrator, Lauren Jarrad, for more information. On the course, we cover best practice in crisis and disaster management, cyber security, information assurance and incident management planning, allowing you to reflect on your own work-based security events and incidents. Participants will develop practical policies and plans which can be applied and integrated within a sustainable economic framework.
