This programme, delivered jointly with the Department of Archaeology, offers the opportunity to specialise in ancient history and archaeology. Core elements are a research training course and a dissertation on archaeological or historical topics. You will also choose from a menu of Mediterranean archaeology and ancient history courses. The possibility also exists of taking elementary and advanced Greek and Latin language for postgraduates.

* Pottery and metallurgical production in the Bronze Age Aegean
* Iron myths and iron smiths in the Greek world
* Pottery production and pottery style in the Archaic-Classical periods
* Ethnicity and identity in Mediterranean archaeology
* The meaning of imported material culture in late Nuragic Sardinia
* Locality and community studies in Mediterranean archaeology
* Engendering Mediterranean archaeology
* Hellenisation and cultural homogenisation in the central Mediterranean
* Rural settlement and agricultural practice in Classical-Hellenistic western Mediterranean.
