Programme
This two-year interdisciplinary masters is taught jointly at the Universities of Edinburgh and Glasgow and draws on the range of expertise in Chinese studies from all Scottish universities to provide a flexible and varied course for graduates wishing to pursue careers in China-related business or diplomacy, or to take up advanced research on contemporary China.
Learning Outcomes
On completion of the programme, you will:
* be able to speak, read, write and understand Chinese (Mandarin);
* have a good knowledge of modern Chinese history, society and culture, and advanced knowledge of modern politics, economics, business or management;
* be able to communicate this knowledge effectively in speech and writing;
* have completed a dissertation on a topic related to contemporary Chinese politics, economics, business or management.
How You Will Be Taught
We offer interactive multimedia language classes with expert native (and some non-native) teachers, plus lecture and tutorial/seminar classes. There will also be full-time language study during a six-month placement in China, and supervised dissertation work.
