Objectives
The MSc in Animal Science is designed to develop your undergraduate knowledge and challenge it through application and research. The field of Animal Science is broad in its nature and the programme reflects this diverse approach. Throughout your time at Hartpury College as a postgraduate student of Animal Science, you will have a personal academic tutor to support you in formulating a combination of modules and experiences to help you achieve your individual goals and interests. The friendly, supportive and personal atmosphere here at Hartpury and the flexible modular programme combine to offer a challenging but enjoyable form of postgraduate study.

Teaching and learning
Learning is through lectures, tutorials, seminar groups, practical sessions, research projects and self-directed study. Assessment is via oral examinations and a research dissertation to gain the full Master's degree.

The Library Resource Centre offers a range of services including an expanding collection of paper-based and online books and journals, exam papers, dissertations, videos/DVDs and industry-relevant magazines and newspapers. Our partnership with the University of the West of England enables all our students to have access to the wider University collections based across campuses in Bristol via the library network.

Postgraduates may progress to a PhD or find employment in animal science research, lecturing, consultancy or other science-based sectors of the animal science industry.
Extra information
A number of Graduate Assistant Bursaries are available on each of our postgraduate courses, although numbers are limited. There are no subsidised loans for postgraduates and students are expected to secure funding for themselves through sponsorships, research grants and charitable awards.
