  • Objectives This programme provides comprehensive grounding in the necessary skills, understanding and knowledge that will enable you to evaluate, design, justify, conduct and analyse a research project of your choice relevant to education and social purpose. It also provides excellent preparation for PhD study.

    Core courses

        * Theories of educational research
        * Methods of educational research and social purpose.
          Specified courses (three courses from a choice of four)
        * Advanced quantitative methods
        * Advanced qualitative methods
        * Seminars on communicating educational research
        * Issues in educational research.

    Optional courses (one choice)

    Any not previously chosen from the specified courses list or:

        * African perspectives in educational research
        * Science education research
        * Language and reflection
        * Sustainability and social justice
        * Advanced quantitative methods ll.

    Plus a dissertation.
