MMedSci Restorative Dentistry (Adhesive Dentistry)

  • Objectives To provide dental graduates with the opportunity to enhance their academic, scientific and clinical skills as part of their career development. To develop or reinforce the principles of scientific research methodology. To provide advanced knowledge and foster critical analysis of scientific and clinical approaches. To increase the student´s understanding of oral disease processes and the clinical and public health measures used in disease management.

  • Course description Course content

    -Core modules: Research methodology; Statistics, library studies and information technology.
    -Adhesive dentistry: Advanced aspects of fixed prosthodontics, including adhesive ceramic and composite work; Study and clinical practice in crown and bridgework (this aspect has a large aesthetic component).
    -Research project: a laboratory-based research project in a relevant field of adhesive dental materials.

    -Tutor-marked assignments
    -Continuous assessment of clinical work using patient logbooks
