  • Academic title MEnt/PgDip International Entrepreneurship
  • Course description Programme content

The 18-month Master of Enterprise: International Entrepreneurship degree programme focuses on a practical project - the student's individual enterprise venture. 50% of studying time is devoted to developing the concept into a marketable product or service and/or the formation of a new company.
It includes writing business plans, making presentations to 'the board' and undertaking market research, as well as the hands-on, practical work involved in the product's actual development.
This 'real life' work is complemented by classroom-based learning, with students required to take bespoke selected Master's level modules to support their idea development and core business enterprise modules.

While the business modules specifically for the entrepreneur cover subjects such as marketing, idea development and the raising of venture capital, the specialist study choices vary depending on each student's needs. The key is to identify any gaps in expertise - and fill them - in order to produce fully rounded enterprising graduates who are able to market a thoroughly researched product or service.
The MEnt:IE programme offers access to vast pools of knowledge and expertise in more than one institution and prepares the students for a successful future career in the international arena.
Students will be offered a range of modules depending which European Partner Institution they choose to study at. The core taught enterprise modules are studied in the first six months at the University of Salford.

    Assessment

Assessment of taught modules is by examination, coursework and laboratory work. The compulsory enterprise modules are assessed by examination, essay and continuous assessment in group-centred practical exercises.

    Career progression

Graduates from the programme can expect to take up key positions in European companies working in cross-cultural business development
or start their own business venture.
