  • Course description The UK is a world leader in Media Production.  As an example, international sales of screen formats are a now a regular source of substantial earnings to the UK economy.  This MA course enables participants to explore the creative possibilities and boundaries of contemporary media, working in television, video, web design, audio and photography alongside writing for and about the media.  The course includes practical hands-on projects using our newly refurbished television and radio studios, cameras and audio equipment, based on a structured approach to research, writing, presentation and production.  There is an emphasis on media futures and developments yet to come, while also developing a knowledge of media business and media law.  This is ideal for you whether you are a graduate continuing from your BA or someone in the industry who wants time and space in a supportive yet rigorous atmosphere to look at where and how you want to work next.

    Course content

    The course is part of ICE, Coventry University’s Institute for Creative Enterprise (ICE), an important new centre for creative talent.  You will study and work in the same exciting, newly converted building as emergent media companies, resident regional professional arts companies and visual artists.  There will be multiple opportunities for collaboration, mentoring and networking.  You will be encouraged to develop original ideas, research and study the market, develop your media skills and knowledge, then start production under experienced guidance using our state-of-the-art facilities.  There will be no interdisciplinary boundaries to hold you back, this MA is about exploring the media in all genres via current themes and issues, through practical work, research and critical engagement.
