Course description
Virtually all mechanical systems rely to a certain extent on integration with electrical and electronic engineering whether it is a drive system, instrumentation or control system.
Sharing the first two years with the BEng Hons Mechanical Engineering programme, this broad-based programme focuses in the final year on manufacturing systems and technologies with core courses in robotics and control and instrumentation together with a major individual project in mechatronics.
The programme is designed to equip students with a broad range of mechanical engineering skills together with an expertise in developing the interface between the mechanical system and its environment using both software and electronic hardware techniques.
Year 1
