Course descriptionThis course is for facilities managers wanting to improve their skills and career prospects and for other graduates who want to enter the field.
We designed it in collaboration with employers. It meets the needs of people who manage in-sourced or out-sourced facilities for their own organisation or provide facilities management services to other organisations.
The philosophy behind the course is that in any organisation facilities management is a distinct management discipline that supports the core business relationship between people, processes and places.
You study a carefully designed curriculum of core management topics. This involves technical subjects ranging from procuring and using technology and buildings, to setting up and managing projects and services.
This benefits you by supporting the development of your leadership and management skills. By transferring what you learn on the course, you can raise the profile of facilities management and the contribution it makes to the effectiveness of the organisation.
We gear the course towards supporting part-time students who are combining study and a demanding full-time job. You may also be returning to study after a long break from education.
The course includes • induction programme • study workshops • one to one support from experienced personal tutors • online access to the course’s e-learning environment • access to the University’s Distance Learner Support Service for University library resources.
