Offering all the benefits of the MBA, the MBA Executive is focused to meet the needs of working managers and offers a flexible delivery structure. It prepares graduates to be leaders who recognise a company's strategic and operational needs, understand the technical, functional and specialised areas of business, and who are capable of transforming organisations through excellent management practice. All students on this internationally recognised qualification are automatically registered as members of the Chartered Management Institute (CMI).

  • Course description COURSE CONTENT
Following the same structure as the full-time MBA, this programme also affords the opportunity to follow one of two specialist strands in public-sector management and logistics.

It develops critical thinking skills grounded in students' existing familiarity with the operational and strategic concerns across an enterprise, with the aim of producing well-rounded and effective managers with the capability to fulfil their personal objectives. This rigorous and stretching programme balances thorough coverage of fundamental management principles with exposure to innovative and challenging ideas.

The exploration of fundamental issues, such as the social impact of management choices and decisions, provides a holistic approach to business management. The programme also cultivates a critical awareness of management practices used when dealing with complexity in business environments.

Students explore issues concerned with the nature of management and organisations in the contemporary business environment and gain a common grounding in the main functional areas of a business. Modules give an integrative and strategic dimension to the study of business and encourage students to synthesise and become critically aware of wider concerns than the functional specialisms.

    FURTHER INFORMATION
Participants in Hull have the opportunity to take one module overseas at the distance-taught locations of Bahrain, Hong Kong, Oman and Singapore, and vice versa.

    ASSESSMENT
The course is assessed by a range of methods, including coursework, examinations and group work. All students complete a dissertation in an area of personal interest.

    SPECIAL FEATURES
A varied agenda of outside speakers and research seminars enhances and enlivens the programme, and students have access to extensive learning materials and industry expertise.

The programme has been accredited by AMBA, the internationally recognised standard for MBA programmes - joining a network of established business schools committed to developing the business leaders of tomorrow.

AMBA membership helps students to improve their career opportunities through networking meetings, events and lifelong learning activities. The Business School also offers expert career guidance through a dedicated career management programme.
