Master Social Work
-
Objectives
This programme offers a professional training to qualify as a social worker and the opportunity to study for a Masters degree. The qualification is designed to emphasise the development of skills in analysis and assessment, build the confidence to apply knowledge to practice, and increase practitioners' ability to create opportunities for users, and to work collaboratively with other professions. The award has been designed in partnership with key stakeholders representing employers and service users who will play an important role in the ongoing development of the course. An important aspect of the programme is its inter-professional curriculum, designed alongside Community Health professionals to reflect practice, and informed by service users' and carers' experiences. This University has many years of experience in offering postgraduate courses in Social Work, and has been accredited by the General Social Care Council (GSCC) as an approved institution to offer this award.
