In 2008, we will also seek accreditation for the course from the North American Society for Sport Management (NAASM). Another unusual feature of the course is that it involves a four month internship period in either the UK or the US, giving students valuable work experience in the industry. With more and more internationally focused sporting events taking place around the world, there is a growing need for appropriately trained managers who have a global perspective. The 2012 London Olympic Games has also produced a need for competent sporting professionals with an international education, before, during, and after the games themselves.
