  • Objectives The LLM is a highly regarded postgraduate qualification that has been designed to facilitate your development of the skills necessary to succeed in both the legal and business worlds. This 180 credit award is obtained after completing the Intellectual Property Law and Information Technology Law modules, 5 elective modules, Research Methods and a Dissertation Professional legal qualifications may allow you credit exemption towards the LLM (Top-up route) (subject to the LLM Committee approval) - Law Society or Bar qualifications will be allowed to count towards the award, as may other legal or para-legal qualifications Modules studied on this course will broaden your knowledge and understanding of specialised areas of law You will gain a critical appreciation of the law and its relationship with the social and economic environment in which it operates Depending on the modules you choose to study, you will be assessed through exams, work plans, coursework and a dissertation
  • Entry requirements Normally, you should have a good Honours degree or equivalent - substantial professional experience can substitute for graduate status We look for graduates with an appropriate Honours degree in law or a non-law degree that has a substantial amount of law content We will consider those with a third class degree if they hold a professional qualification such as the LPC Other qualifications or experience which demonstrate appropriate legal or related knowledge equivalent to degree standard will also be considered You should also have a good standard of written and spoken English (IELTS 6.0 or equivalent)
