MArch in Architecture and Town Planning (RIBA Part 2 & RTPI)

  • Objectives The course leads to dual professional accreditation as an architect and town planner and is presently recognised by the RTPI, validated by the RIBA at Part 2 level and prescribed by ARB.
  • Entry requirements Entry qualifications BA in Architecture, 2:1 or equivalent, from a RIBA/ARB approved institution and one year in practice. Applicants should have RIBA Part 1 or equivalent.

  • Course description Course content

    -Range of themed design-based studios dedicated to specific areas of practice and/or research,
    -Compulsory courses in town planning, humanities, management and building sciences.
    -Integrated Town and Regional Planning project.
    -Students expecting to qualify as architects produce at least one comprehensive design project.

    Teaching
    Design teaching is based on a studio system, with a range of options on offer, each research led.

    Staff from Architecture and Town and Regional Planning run programmes linking lecture courses, studio work and research.
