This short course deals with disciplinary and grievance issues in the workplace, and looks at how these can be managed sensitively and in accordance with organizational policy. The course introduces reasons for the implementation of disciplinary and grievance procedures in the workplace, and looks at the typical stages these procedures follow and how they can be handled professionally and in line with legislation. Topics covered include disciplinary procedures based on capability or conduct, counselling and mediation, informal discussion, warnings, suspension and disciplinary hearings.
