Magnetics (MSc)
-
Objectives
The MSc in Magnetics offers advanced education in magnetic engineering, leading to a specialised qualification that is unique within the United Kingdom and probably within Europe. The programme has been developed in response to a demand for highly-trained postgraduates in the strategically important field of Magnetics, which is vital to a number of industrial sectors ranging from the power industry to the transportation and data storage industries.
The education and training delivered by the MSc in Magnetics will provide graduates of the programem with a career route into industry or academia. Successful students will also be encouraged to apply for the School's PhD programme. In keeping with Cardiff University’s practice of providing research-led teaching, the course content will be directly relevant to the research interests of the new Institute for Advanced Materials and Energy Systems, and to the research activities of the Wolfson Centre for Magnetics.
