MA-PGCert-PGDip Education - Education Leadership and Management - Special and Inclusive Education - Teaching and Learning
ObjectivesThis taught course is designed for those working in the field of education at all levels. There are three stages leading to the Masters degree: Postgraduate Certificate; Postgraduate Diploma; Masters.
Entry requirementsEntry requirements Applicants should normally have either a degree or equivalent and at least three years experience of working in an education environment.

Course descriptionYour choice of modules will determine the name of the award you receive. For those wishing to gain an MA award, the Research Skills and Dissertation modules are mandatory.
The four named award pathways leading to MA, PG Cert or PG Dip are:
* MA (Inclusive Education)
* MA Education (Educational Leadership and Management)
* MA Education (Teaching and Learning)
* MA Education (Teaching and Learning in Higher Education)
Alternatively you have the opportunity to choose freely from the full range of modules in order to study for the generic award:
* MA Education
Modules include:
* Innovation in Teaching and Learning
* Managing Teaching and Learning
* Mentoring in an Educational Setting
* Leading Change in Education
* Managing Resources in Education.
Course content
The course offers a range of modules including: Management of Teaching and Learning; Management of Resources; Leading Change in Education; Education Policy and Practice; Research Methods
Assessment
Modules are assessed, there are no formal examinations. Students will also work on a small scale research project, literature review and a research based dissertation.
Resources and facilities
Facilities include a range of well-equipped learning environments on the Clifton campus. The newly built Ada Byron King building has state-of-the-art teaching rooms and ample work stations. The refurbished Lionel Robbins building has several teaching and seminar rooms.
Study routes
The course has three starting points; September, January and April. Attendance is normally on Thursday evenings, each week, 5.30-8.30pm, although other attendance modes e.g. weekend and summer schools may also be part of the provision.

Research opportunities
Research methods are taught and the dissertation is a personal, professional research project.
