ObjectivesThis exciting programme has been developed to meet the needs of practitioners, many of whom are already engaged in Masters level practice development as part of their everyday work. It enables practitioners to gain credit for their advanced level practice development.
Entry requirementsThe normal requirements for embarking upon a postgraduate taught degree are: -A good Bachelors Honours degree -For post-experience and professional qualifications, there may be additional entry requirements set by the association or institute that ultimately administers the qualification in question. The qualification description on the course information pages should tell you what these are but please get in touch with the appropriate School if you are in doubt

Course descriptionCourse Content
The course is designed around each student's practice development needs, which encompasses a student-led approach where the individual will lead the length of time taken to complete the course.
Units of study include:
-Professional Development Narrative
-Practice Development through Group Supervision
-Either Critical Analysis of a Project or Critical
-Analysis of a Practice Issue
-Project Proposal
-Project Dissertation
Option Units
You can also attend two day Master classes in Qualitative Methods to account for your option units.
Master classes
These will provide you with an opportunity to engage with an expert of international renown to explore and investigate issues in the production and dissemination of qualitative research, and to enable participants to apply their insights and learning to their own area of practice. In 2007, you will be able to choose from six master classes from a wide range of subjects of interest.
Research / Practice Development Dissertation:
Students have the opportunity to either carry out a Research dissertation or a Practice Development dissertation. Students can commence their work following completion of the principles of enquiry and research unit and meeting relevant ethics committee approval.
Normally most students commence their dissertation in the second year but the programme regulations allow students up to five years from commencement of the programme to completion.
