Entry requirements
This MA is designed to provide postgraduate study for individuals from a broad range of backgrounds: new graduates who wish to develop a distinctive practice to succeed in a highly competitive industry; those in media industries who would like to use their extensive experience to expand the scope of their professional practice; and those from a visual arts background who wish to incorporate time-based media into their practice. This provides a strong critical and interdisciplinary context in which experimentation and innovation are encouraged in different approaches to moving image production, from television drama, experimental documentary to site-specific video art.

Course Content
You will study the following modules:
* Research Methods 1
* Experimental Practices
* Pilot Project
* Production
* Histories and Theories of the Moving Image 1 and 2
How To Study
The course is delivered through taught modules. Students will spend eight hours a week in lectures, seminars and workshops. These taught sessions will provide students with the necessary practical and theoretical skills to complete their practical and written coursework.
In Research Methods 1 students will be assessed on a written report, which will inform the practical research element of the practical modules.
Experimental Practices and Pilot Project modules will be assessed on an oral presentation and the practical assignments. The Production module is
assessed in two parts; the finished production and a critical essay relating to the production. Histories and Theories of the Moving Image will be
assessed by dissertation and oral presentation.
Career prospects
The core emphasis on innovative approaches, analytical skills and multiskilled training will effectively prepare those who want to enter the
commercial or the cultural sectors of the media industry, for a range of technical or artistic roles. The course may also be a highly appropriate
mode of study for those wishing to study media at PhD level.
