MA Landscape Management

Objectives
The MA in Landscape Management is a postgraduate programme for those wishing to gain a professional qualification in this increasingly important branch of Landscape Architecture. Landscape Management is specifically concerned with the long-term care and development of new and existing landscapes and also with determining policy and with planning for future Landscape Management and use. It requires particular expertise in the management and maintenance of landscape materials, both hard and soft, based on established principles of construction, horticulture and ecology. Understanding of financial matters, management skills and contract administration are also involved. The course aims to provide professional training in landscape management. It is particularly suitable for students who have worked or are working in the private sector, a local authority, or community organisation.

Entry requirements
Entry requirements Degree or equivalent qualification in: Agriculture Botany Environmental Science Forestry Landscape Ecology Countryside Management or other subject approved by the faculty plus minimum of nine months’ relevant work experience For candidates without a degree: alternative academic qualification and minimum of five years' relevant work experience. Entry for these candidates requires approval from the Faculty of Architectural Studies. Our standard English language requirements for overseas students are: IELTS 6.5, TOEFL 575 (paper based) with TWE 4.5, or TOEFL 232 (computer based).
