ObjectivesAll our applied courses emphasise core, generic journalism skills and knowledge - writing, researching, interviewing, organising and structuring information - and then apply them to the different media platforms. This is achieved through media production to professional standards in a simulated workplace environment and exposure to media professionals. Students examine a range of journalism issues - ethical, legal, historical, organisational - recognising that the best journalists are those who reflect on journalistic practice. MA in Journalism Studies (Broadcast) is a flexible programme of study aimed at those who wish to combine the practice of journalism with a greater variety of academic study. It is particularly appropriate for those who plan a career outside the UK. The course is not accredited by the Broadcast Journalism Training Council and does not offer work experience opportunities.
Entry requirementsEntry Requirements 2:1 degree or overseas equivalent. Previous journalistic experience is not required but excellent writing and communication skills are essential, plus wide general knowledge and an appetite for investigation. Good computing and word processing skills are desirable. Minimum IELTS score of 7.5 (with 7 in in each component).
