Academic titleMA in Nineteenth Century Studies
Course descriptionIntroduction
The MA in Nineteenth-Century Studies gives students the opportunity to experience ‘cutting edge' research activity in this rich period of literary history. The four substantive modules focus on the areas of family, gender, the visual arts and politics, all of which have recently attracted renewed critical attention. They benefit from specific staff research interests and make direct use of the University's excellent archival and periodical materials. All students complete the programme by writing a dissertation on a subject of their own choice. The normal entry requirement is a good BA degree in English or a related subject.
