  • Objectives To provide training up to basic research level in the ‘Leicester’ approach to English Local History as a subject which is comparative across the nation; topographically grounded; cultural in its concerns; sensitive to long-term chronologies; conceptually aware and inter-disciplinary in its methodologies.
  • Entry requirements Entry requirements Normally a good second class honours degree in an appropriate subject including History, Economic History, Geography, Archaeology. Applications are also invited from those who do not possess the normal admission requirements but who can show enthusiasm and competence by having attended relevant certificate courses, by submitting published work or by writing qualifying essays to a first degree standard.
