Objectives
Offers a structured but flexible scheme of study to graduates seeking to extend their knowledge of the Hispanic field. May be used to fulfil the training year requirements of the AHRC/British Academy.

Entry requirements
Entry requirements First or 2:1 Honours degree, or equivalent, in any branch of Hispanic studies, or in other subjects with good language skills and strong Hispanic interests. Our standard English requirements for overseas applicants are: IELTS 6 (with no less than 5 in each part), or TOEFL 550 (paper based) or TOEFL 213 (computerbased) or equivalent.

Course description
Postgraduate taught courses: MA in Hispanic Studies
The MA in Hispanic Studies is designed for graduates in Hispanic Studies (or other graduates with relevant language qualifications and strong Hispanic interests) who want to obtain a specialist qualification in the area.
It is a structured but exceptionally flexible programme of study and research that allows students to deepen, extend or renew their knowledge of the Hispanic field. It may also be used to fulfil the 'training year' requirements of the current AHRB / British Academy funding scheme.
Course content
-Subject-based modules on prescribed areas of study
-Tailor-made directed reading modules (optional)
-Supervised study on a specialised linguistic, literary, cultural or social topic related to other chosen areas of study
-Dissertation
-Research training
An introductory course in Portuguese is available.
