MA Global Social Policy

  • Objectives The course offers a general education in research methodology, specific knowledge of different areas of global social policy, and the process of implementing and evaluating global social policy. Students should acquire the following skills: Assess critically comparative policy research, policy transfer research and practice, and the aid and policy dissemination policies of international organisations (IOs) Act as a beginning international social policy consultant in a chosen field Undertake research into the international policy making process Undertake policy analysis work for international organisations or international NGOs and other agencies
  • Entry requirements Entry Requirements A good honours degree in a relevant discipline or an equivalent recognised qualification. We will also recognise experience working in policy, for an international organisation, or for a non-governmental organisation. A relevant language qualification for students whose first language is not English (e.g. IELTS 6.5 or above, TOEFL 600 or above.)

    Two (F/T) or four (P/T) taught semesters, including a year-long module in Analysis, Research, practice and Evaluation, the second semester of which is online. Students may also elect to do a placement in an international organisation or an international non-governmental organisation.
