Our MBA aims to develop your career by building on your professional and managerial experience. For most graduates the MBA is a fast track for career development or can be the basis from which to develop a new career direction
  • Entry requirements Entry requirements Criteria for the MBA should normally include a first degree or a relevant professional or academic qualification deemed to be equivalent standing. In addition applicants should have: A period of work experience incorporating operational responsibilities (usually not less than three years) For those whose first language is not English you will need to provide evidence of English language proficiency to the level of IELTS 6.5 (to include a minimum of 6.0 in reading and writing) or TOEFL 600 to include the Test of Written English (TWE) at 5 or above.

  • Course description Course content
    Designed for mid to senior level managers, experienced team leaders or professionals, it aims to develop your confidence to perform across key functional areas of the business and enhance your capabilities to operate and think more strategically. The MBA enables you to broaden and deepen your knowledge and skills through experiential and project based learning and have your perceptions and interpretation of business management challenged.

    The core programme content is supported through a choice or electives providing an opportunity to specialise and focus on areas of particular interest to delegates.

    How do you study?
    The part time programme runs on one afternoon and evening per week. The full time mode involves full working weeks of study over no more than 45 weeks in the year.  The consultancy projects each involve a block release of one week. A range of teaching and learning methods are employed on the course including, workshops, case studies, independent research, in addition to the conventional lectures.

    Induction
    A comprehensive induction programme at the start of the course provides an introduction to:

    -critical thinking
    -studying at postgraduate level
    -using the library effectively
    -introduction to accounting
    -working in teams and personal development

    Assessment
    The course is typically assessed via a combination of work-based assignments, group and individual projects, examinations and an extended research project.

    Degree options
    Individual students have differing work rates and home commitments, and the MBA is designed accordingly to maximise flexibility in its structure and delivery. You can opt to complete your studies within 12 months on a full-time basis (subject to validation) or take up to six years within an existing part-time structure.

Electronic library resources form a core part of the support to students, with over 200 databases and 1,500 electronic journals accessible by the eLibrary web portal.
